Florida has been a great experience so far. I am learning so much about myself as an athlete which has helped mold me into a more positive person. And the work loud on the track…working hard is an understatement! I have never worked so hard in my life and it is surely paying off! There has been many days I think to myself, “I’m never going to make it through this workout.” And then something within me says “Let’s go!!!” and I shock myself of how well I just finished. It’s been a very humbling experience so far.
I have been blessed to be able to train with one of the best 400m runners in the world: 2-time Olympic Silver Medalist, Novlene Williams of Jamaica, and also a Olympic Gold Medalist from the United States, Moushaumi Robinson. We also have a great teammate, Tramayne Gillyard, a former Middle Tennessee graduate.
Everyday we step out there and attack every workout like it’s our last. We not only train but we compete, and almost everyday Charlie Man and Coach Gary will have to pick us up off the track because we leave it ALL on the track and have nothing left in us (literally)! We all have ‘one goal’: to be on that Olympic Podium. That is why we named ourselves “One Goal Track Club”. We are so dedicated and I am so blessed to be surrounded by athletes who are hungry and who aren’t afraid to do the work!
It’s been such an inspiring experience. I am so excited for what is to come this season.
My first meet is on March.17th at the University of Central Florida. Once the day approaches you can find info on the meet and watch for the results:
